THE CUT CREATED ANOTHER CUT explores recursion through torn paper, layered openings, and the physical evidence of making. Each hand-cut shape reveals another beneath it, building a deep field of repeated profiles, color, shadow, and imperfect alignment.
Electric cyan, acid magenta, solar yellow, orange, emerald, cobalt, and ultraviolet collide against black voids and worn cream paper. Knife marks, tape repairs, registration errors, halftone textures, fingerprints, and abandoned guides remain visible throughout, turning the process itself into part of the finished image.
From a distance, the layers resolve into a hidden human profile. Up close, the artwork breaks apart into scraps, cuts, measurements, and repeated decisions—a study of how one mark can generate an entire visual system.
